Rock House Farm opens its gates for Open Farm Sunday 2026

4 Jun 2026

Visitors are invited to discover the wonderful world of farming this weekend as Rock House Farm in Newton-le-Willows takes part in Open Farm Sunday on 7th June 2026.

Open Farm Sunday is a nationwide initiative that gives the public the opportunity to visit working farms, meet farmers, learn where food comes from, and gain a greater understanding of modern farming and countryside stewardship.

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Rock House Farm is a family-run farm well known for producing high-quality local food. The farm rears a rare-breed of Pedigree Berkshire pigs, pasture-raised lamb, free-range eggs, and creates a range of homemade products including cakes, jams, chutneys and preserves, all available through its on-site farm shop. The farm places a strong emphasis on sustainable farming and caring for the local environment. (Rock House Meats)

Visitors attending Open Farm Sunday will have the chance to explore the farm, learn about livestock and food production, and see first-hand the hard work that goes into producing local food. It is a fantastic opportunity for families, children and anyone with an interest in farming to connect with the countryside.

The farm shop will also be open, offering a selection of home-produced meats, baked goods, preserves and other local produce, providing visitors with the chance to take a taste of the farm home with them. (Rock House Meats)

Open Farm Sunday runs from 11:00am until 3:00pm and promises to be an enjoyable and educational day out for all ages. Whether you’re a regular supporter of local farming or simply looking for a family-friendly day out, Rock House Farm offers the perfect opportunity to experience farming up close.

For more information about Open Farm Sunday and the work carried out at Rock House Farm, visitors are encouraged to come along and discover the farm for themselves.
